Introduction to the Women Selection Tournament
On Saturday, January 11, 2025, the Coimbatore District Chess Association hosted an eagerly anticipated women's selection tournament at Sanmarga Sangam, Poomarket, Coimbatore - 641002. This event not only highlighted the talent present within the community but also aimed to select the top female chess players for the upcoming tournament.
Objectives of the Tournament
The primary objective of this esteemed tournament was to identify the top four players who would represent Coimbatore in the Tamil Nadu State Women Chess Championship 2025, set to take place in Thoothukudi from January 16 to 20, 2025. The tournament was designed to test the skills and strategies of the competing players, fostering a competitive yet supportive environment.

After an exhilarating day of chess, top 10 players got cash award of Rs: 7500/- the Coimbatore District Chess Association proudly announces the selection of the top four players (Total No. of participance 61):
Jayashri M - Chinmaya Vidyalaya Matric HSS - RS: 2000 (CASH AWARD + TROPHY)
Vaishnavi S K - National Model MHSS - RS: 1500 (CASH AWARD)
Rosewe M - PSG CAS - RS: 1000 (CASH AWARD)
Shri Shivani G - PSG Tech - RS: 750 (CASH AWARD)
